‘Racism’? ‘Racial resentment’? Call it prejudice
~The Boston Globe
In a text book case of white privilege, Geraldine Ferraro writes about how racial resentment over “reverse-racism” is upsetting Reagan Democrats. She feels that white america is scared over the racism against whites present in Obama’s campaign.
If you’re white you can’t open your mouth without being accused of being racist. They see Obama’s playing the race card throughout the campaign and no one calling him for it as frightening. They’re not upset with Obama because he’s black; they’re upset because they don’t expect to be treated fairly because they’re white. It’s not racism that is driving them, it’s racial resentment.
famed scientist claims: ‘black people are less intelligent’

~The Root
Last November, Nobel Prize winning physicist James Watson started a firestorm when he claimed that black people are less intelligent than white people.
The 79-year-old geneticist said he was “inherently gloomy about the prospect of Africa” because “all our social policies are based on the fact that their intelligence is the same as ours - whereas all the testing says not really.”. He said he hoped that everyone was equal, but countered that “people who have to deal with black employees find this not true”.
This week, The Root, published an interview in which Editor-in-Chief Henry Louis Gates Jr. spoke with Watson as he attempted to clarify his views about race and genetics. Below are the links to the transcript along with an introduction by Mr. Gates.

Just goes to show you that even the liberal folks, those that profess to be all about racial equality, have no idea how wrong and insulting these things are. We have a long road ahead of us as we seek to correct these “misunderstandings”.
White Liberal Blogger Goes Too Far, Depicts Michelle Obama Being Lynched
~RaceWire
“Barack Obama already asked his opponents to lay off his wife, and now, it seems he may need to tell his supporters the same thing. A DailyKos contributor, ONECITIZEN, created this horrible image of Michelle Obama being lynched by the Ku Klux Klan in an attempt to illustrate the ways Barack Obama’s opponents were using statements made by his wife against him in his campaign for president.”

An amazingly dumb essay extolling that American superiority is encoded in our DNA except for those who are descended from slaves. The first link is the article; the second a rebuttal.
Respecting - And Recognizing - American D.N.A.

“…two respected professors of psychiatry have recently come out with challenging books that contend that those who chose to settle this country in every generation possessed crucial common traits that they passed on to their descendants.”
and the rebuttal:
Michael Medved says something dumb
~scienceblogs.com
“[Michael Medved] has declared American superiority to be genetic, encoded in our good old American DNA. Because our ancestors were immigrants, who were risk-takers, who were selected for their energy and aggressiveness. Oh, except for those who are descended from slaves.”
‘This Is How We Lost to the White Man’

‘This is how we lost to the white man’
~The Atlantic
This is an overview and analysis of Bill Cosby’s current crusade for African-American self-reliance as the cure for racism. The article expands on the notion that instead of striving towards Dr King’s dream of a “melting pot” where everyone is equal, Cosby is taking a very Malcolm X like stance of pushing for a black America that pulls itself up to become the equal of white America.
…preaching from the book of black self-reliance, a gospel that he has spent the past four years carrying across the country in a series of events that he bills as “call-outs.” “My problem,” Cosby told the audience, “is I’m tired of losing to white people. When I say I don’t care about white people, I mean let them say what they want to say. What can they say to me that’s worse than what their grandfather said?”
